Chinese Pakore

A quirky fun recipe from mom, that takes me back to my childhood….these fusion pakoras are irresistibly yum!

You will need

2 cups cabbage tightly packed

1 capsicum

2-3 finely minced green chillies (optional)

1 tbsp ginger garlic paste.

3/4 cup corn

5-6 heaped tbsp besan

5-6 heaped tsp corn starch

1/2 cup ground poha

2 tsp green chilli sauce

2 tbsp light soy sauce

( or 1 tbsp dark soy sauce)

Salt and red chilli pwdr to taste.

1 tsp baking pwdr

A pinch of baking soda (optional)

Finely shred cabbage. Slice capsicum thinly.

Mix all ingredients together, except the ground poha.

Let the mix rest for 20 minutes.

It will start to become slightly watery as the vegetables will give out some water. Now add the ground poha to bring the mix together.

Drop small lumps of mix into hot oil.

Cook on medium heat

till golden!

serve these crrrunchy treats hot with your fav chilli sauce and ketchup!
