Celebrate tender sweet green peas with this delicious stuffed Matar ki Tikkis!
You will need:
5-6 Potatoes boiled and mashed smooth
2 cups Boiled peas
2 tbsp ginger n green chillies minced together
1 tsp Jeera
1/2 tsp Red chilli pwdr
1/4 tsp Garam masala
Salt to taste
2 tbsp Finely chopped fresh coriander and some Lemon Juice
To make the peas filling…
Heat a tsp of oil and add the jeera. Add 1 tbsp of minced ginger n green chillies and cook for a minute. Mix in the boiled peas and salt, red chilli pwdr, garam masala and 1 tbsp finely chopped fresh dhania. Finish with a generous squeeze of lime. While still warm, mash the peas filling slightly, set aside to cool.
To season the mashed potato…
Add salt, 1 tbsp of minced ginger n green chillies and 1 tbsp freshly chopped dhania. Mix to combine.
To make the tikkis…
Take a lemon size ball of seasoned mashed potato. Flatten slightly. Fill generously with peas filling, bring corners together to seal into a round ball. Flatten ball slightly.
Cook on medium high heat using a few drops of oil…serve hot with spicy green chutney…yum yum!
