Day 2 of My Desi Detox, the Veg-Alu Day…completed! 🙂
Day 2 started with a boiled potato and 2 cups of spinach…deliciously translated into Spinach Alu Tikkis…yum yum!
Instead of spinach, you also add minced vegetables and make my Detox Veg Tikki! Adding spinach or vegetables to alu is my sneaky way to enjoy more tikkis, without eating too much alu! 😉 This was accompanied by Ayurvedic Spice Tea.
Lunch was a big bowl of simple Tori ki sabji made with minimal oil followed by another 2 cups of Ayurvedic Spice Tea
Evening snack was sliced tomatoes topped with some Smoky Garlic-Jalapeño Guacamole…which was an absolute treat!
Dinner was a big bowl of my Detox Stir-fry!
The day of vegetables went by easy enough. The alu spinach tikkis eaten at the beginning of the day…helped a lot.
Looking forward to eating some fruits tomorrow, missed eating them today! 🙂

ROUND 2
The second day began with an indulgent big baked potato with a generous dash of salt, pepper and crushed red pepper along with a tsp of butter. It was extremely filling and I could barely bring myself to finish it. It was accompanied with 2 cups of
Ayurvedic tea.
Lunch was a simple cut salad of lettuce, onions, tomatoes and avacados with just salt and lemon juice used as dressing.
Dinner was a tangy Sriracha Mango Stir fry which was an absolute treat!
The day passed by quite easily with no serious hunger cravings.
The potato helped settle the light headed feeling from yesterday…and from then on it was smooth sailing for the rest of the day!
One small admission though….I did cheat with a glass a freshly squeezed orange juice in the morning, which I could not bring myself to resist! 🙂
ROUND 1
I started the day with a cup of my Ayurvedic Spice Tea and some spicy Spinach Alu Tikkis. I allow myself 1 potato, which when mixed with 2 cups of spinach gave me three big delicious tikkis, 2 for breakfast and one for my evening snack!
Lunch was a simple but very satisfying guacamole (reconstructed) sitting pretty atop juicy red heirloom tomatoes.
Dinner was a wholesome serving of Spicy Cajun Grilled Veg!
At the end of day 2, I feel even more rejuvenated…no serious cravings or moments of weakness to talk about! 🙂
