In a few easy steps…
Make your own pizza sauce using simple ingredients from your refrigerator/pantry.
By using fresh ingredients you avoid preservatives and the fresh sauce has wonderful depth of flavor which cannot come out of jarred substitutes!
Here’s how I do it…
Cut tomatoes in halves.
Place on a lined baking tray.
Sprinkle with salt n pepper.
Top with sliced garlic and a drizzle of olive oil.
Roast in a 350 degree oven for 30 minutes.
Remove from oven, allow to cool slightly, remove outer peel.
Process peeled tomatoes till smooth.
Transfer to a deep cooking pan
and simmer till thick. Add basil, oregano, crushed red pepper and sugar to taste.Taste sauce, and tweak salt as needed.
Once cool…it’s ready to use!
Spread on spread out pizza dough,
top with cheese and veggies/meat.
Cook pizza in oven…enjoy!
