Colorful Nav Dhan is a mix of 9 Grains and Lentils which looks pretty on your table….and has tons of nutrition too! Do give it a try!
Method: Soak Nav Dhan bean & lentil mix overnight. Wash, drain, transfer to a steel dish and cover with a wet paper towel. After 12 hours wash and drain gently and cover with wet towel again. Repeat this process for 4-5 days till Nav Dhan sprouts. This prevents any chance of them becoming slimy or worse still…rotting! By the end of day 5 almost all the grain would have sprouted! Now heat oil, add jeera, minced ginger, green chilli followed by the Nav Dhan, a little water and salt to taste. Give one light steam in the pressure cooker, open and add a good squeeze of lime and some freshly chopped dhania. Serve warm or at room temperature. You can also add chopped onions, tomatoes cucumbers and peppers to the steamed & sprouted Nav Dhan!
