SPICY FISH FRY
I call it, quick simple fast food…made right!
Fish tossed in freshly roasted and pound spices, then flash fried…on the table in less than 10 mins flat! And kids and adults both flipped on the melt-in-the-mouth perfectly seasoned treat! 🙂
Here’s how I made it….
Dry roast the following spices on gentle heat.
2 tsp Coriander Seeds
1 tsp ghee
2 tsp toor dal
1 tsp pepper
2 red dry chillis
½ tsp cumin seeds
Coarsely pound using a mortar pestle, or a dry grinder.
Do not grind the mix too fine…
Rinse fish in water with a tbsp of vinegar and pat dry. Cut into 2 inch pieces.
Sprinkle spice mix liberally on the fish along with a good squeeze of lime.
Also add salt, haldi and red chilli powder according to personal taste.
Flash fry in medium hot oil.
Take care not to let the temperature of the oil go down, so that the fish does not absorb excessive oil!
Alternatively you can also pan sear with a gentle spray of oil.
Serve warm…with your fav chutney/hot sauce!
