Whole gobhi…. Grilled on the BBQ!

Whole gobhi…. Grilled on the BBQ!
A stunning BBQ offering, that will wow your guests! I first made this for my annual BBQ last year on the suggestion of a fellow foodie Shimpa and was absolutely taken aback by the response of my guests! It was an absolute hit among both vegetarians and non-vegetarians! 🙂
Unlike cut gobhi the whole gobhi retains crunchiness and moisture much better and does not go limp! I have used two different marinades, one I named the Blond, the other the Red-head! 🙂

For the Red-head Gobhi
Wash dry and marinate small gobhis (with the bottom cut off slightly so that they can sit easily) in a light marinade of salt & chaat masala. After 2-3 hours drain juices from gobhi and keep aside. In a bowl mix 1tsp each of ginger-garlic paste, 2tbsp thick yoghurt, 1tbsp oil, salt and 11/2 tbsp of the Tandoori Masala…..Now rub the prepared mix all over the gobhi and marinate for another 2-3 hours. Grill on a low/medium hot bbq, basting with butter intermittently till done! Carve into bite size pieces and serve hot!

For the Blond Gobhi:
Wash dry and marinate small gobhis (with the bottom cut off slightly so that they can sit easily) in a light marinade of salt & chaat masala. After 2-3 hours drain juices from gobhi and keep aside. In a bowl mix, 1tsp each of ginger-garlic paste, 1 tsp green chilli paste, 2tbsp thick yoghurt, 1 tbsp cream cheese, salt and garam masala. Now rub the prepared mix all over the gobhi and marinate for another 2-3 hours. Grill on a low/medium hot bbq, basting with butter intermittently till done! Carve into bite size pieces and serve hot!
