The Simplest No-fuss Recipe for Amritsari Fish that you’ll ever find, yet sooo delicious! If you don’t like fish, try it with paneer or boiled alu or even baingan…this recipe rocks any which way! 🙂
For the Marinade:
You will need….
Ajwain
Kasoori methi (dry roasted in MW for 30 sec, crushed with hand to make into powder, and then sieve it)
Red Chilli pwd
Besan
Pinch of haldi
Salt
Method:
Add white vinegar to the above mix to make a thick paste.
Coat the fish and let it marinade for at least 30 minutes.
Shallow fry on medium flame and serve with nimbu pyaz and hari chutney!

Can I use Swai fish fillets(White fish) as thats the one I have?

Can we use lemon instead of vinegar or vinegar gives the perfect taste?
You could use lemon I guess, but vinegar imparts a unique flavor!
