Mom’s Famous BLACK CHICKEN…so famous… It has a cult following among friends and family!!
As I was making this, waves of nostalgia washed over me….the very smell of this dish, brings back many fond childhood memories!!
Be it a fancy dinner party, or a family picnic….or even a train journey, this chicken was always the TOP PICK!
Method:
Marinate 6 medium sized chicken drumsticks (poked from all sides with a sharp fork) in salt, 1 tsp red chili pwdr, 2 tsp good quality Garam Masala ( preferably the homemade kind) 1 tbsp ginger garlic paste, 1 1/2 tbsp each of dark soy sauce and vinegar…for about 20-25 minutes.
Heat 1 tsp oil and bhuno chicken on medium high to seal the juices. When most of the liquid dries up and the chicken turns slightly crispy…Sprinkle a little water, cover and cook on low flame till chicken is cooked through, about 20 minutes. Remove cover and stir fry on high for another 3-4 minutes, till masala leaves oil!
Serve garnished with onion rings!
This is a very simple recipe thanks for sharing đŸ™‚ Looks yummyy
Looks delicious! May I ask what kind of cooking pan did you use?
I would recommend a non stick pan or a hard anodized one!
I have tried this recipe several times. Very delicious.
