A quick simple Sabzi that is ready in minutes…and never fails to please! I love the contrast of flavors here…the sweet cabbage pairs so well with the peppery capsicum.
You will need…
3 cups sliced cabbage (do not shred too fine)
1 large (or 2 small) capsicums sliced
2 tsp ginger-green chili minced
1 tsp mustard seeds
2 whole red chillies
1 tbsp crushed tomato
1/2 tsp (or less) red chili pwdr
1/2 tsp haldi
salt to taste.
Method:
Heat oil and add the mustard seeds and whole red chillies.
Once they splutter, add the minced ginger green chilli. Cook for a minute.
Add the sliced cabbage and capsicum along with the haldi, red chili pwdr and salt and stir to mix.
Bhuno on high heat for 2-3 minutes. Now add 1 tbsp of tomato purée. Mix to combine.
Cover and cook for 7-8 min on low heat. Midway, open cover to stir.
After 8 minutes. Remove cover, check seasoning…cook on high heat for a few seconds …ready!
Serve with Dal-Roti-Chawal….simple wholesome food at its best! 🙂
