Methi Matar Malai…the combination of these three elements spell magic!
Make it my way and it will surely impress…it’s even kid approved!!
You will need:
4-5 cups methi washed, drained and finely minced along with 2 green chillies
1 1/2 cup frozen/boiled peas
1 cup fresh tomato puree
1 cup finely chopped onions
1 cup cream
1 heaped tbsp ginger garlic minced
1 tsp jeera
1/2 tsp red chilli pwdr
1/4 tsp haldi
1/4 tsp dhania pwdr
1/8 tsp Garam Masada
Salt to taste
Method:
Heat a tbsp.of oil/ghee and add jeera.
Add ginger garlic paste
followed by the onions and cook till they start to acquire a golden brown color.
Add tomatoes puree
along with salt, haldi, red chili pwdr, dhania pwdr and Garam Masada.
Cook to reduce about 3-4 min. Add half the cream (reserving the remaining 1/4 for later and cook for another 2 min.
Now add the minced methi. Cook till methi starts to melt and become tender.
Mix in 1 1/2 cup boiled peas and simmer for 3-4 minutes.
When ready to serve, heat through… add the remaining 1/4 cup cream
and bring to slow simmer and cook for another 2-3 minutes, Ready!
