Healthy wholesome and delicious, this sandwich paste has been with us since our school days. As it uses a whole lot of veggies its a great option to increase veggies in your kid’s diet!
We love to use them for picnics and summer outings, where they are always a huge hit with kids and adults alike!
To make the Pink Sandwich paste, you will need:
1 large tomato
1/4 cup butter
1/2 cup cheese
1/4 cup each of minced capsicum/bellpepper, carrots and cabbage and one minced chilli if you like.
Salt n pepper to taste.
Method:
Boil/microwave tomato to cook and loosen peel. Remove peel and cool.
Blend tomato, cheese and butter in mixi till smooth.
Mix in the minced vegetables.
Add salt n pepper to taste.
PS: If you like you can use cream cheese instead of grated cheese…works wonderfully.
Spread liberally on sliced bread
and make sandwiches!
Note: if you are going on a picnic or journey. You can take this paste in a chilled bottle/container along with a loaf of sliced bread. When its time to eat…apply on bread and make fresh sandwiches!
