Spicy juicy morsels of grilled meat, chicken tikkas are a universal fav!
I share a very simple basic recipe that sticks to commonly available pantry ingredients, a quick marination and yet gives you delicious results! It’s my go-to recipe for kababs in a hurry!
So here’s how I make it….
Ingredients (Serves 6)
- 3 pounds boneless chicken thighs cut into 1 1/2 inch pieces, fat removed, washed and completely drained of all water
- 3 tbsp sour cream / (dahi + cream)
- 3 tbsp ginger garlic green chilli paste
- 2 tsp coriander powder
- 1 tsp red chilli powder
- 1 tsp garam masala
- 1/2 tsp turmeric
- 2 tbsp lemon juice
- 1 tbsp mustard oil
- Salt to taste
Method:
Mix all ingredients for the marinade along with the chicken and marinate for 1/2 hour.
Preheat oven or air fryer at highest setting. Meanwhile thread meat on bamboo skewers Cook for about 25 minutes. Mid way baste generously with butter.
Slide tikkas from skewers. Serve with sliced onions and chutney yoghurt dip!
You can also use these versatile kababs as filling for kathi rolls….
or slip them into a butter chicken gravy to make a delicious chicken tikka masala!
