Tandoori Chicken



Loved by adults & kids alike it is easily the most popular chicken dish among Desis! Tandoori chicken has now crossed all borders to be loved the world over! I favor a two point marination to make this.

Tandoori Chicken
(made with fresh homemade Tandoori Masala)


Make deep horizontal cuts on all sides of 2 pounds of bone in chicken ( use a combination of drumsticks & thighs) and marinate them with salt, 2 tbsp ginger-garlic paste & juice of 1 lemon for about 2 hours.

After 2 hours squeeze out the juices from the chicken and keep aside. In a bowl mix, 2tbsp thick yoghurt, 1tbsp mustard oil, salt to taste and 11/2 tbsp Tandoori Masala.
Now rub the prepared mix all over the chicken . and marinate for another hour. Grill on a medium hot BBQ or bake in a 450f oven for about 20 minutes. Then flip side and bake for another 8 min. Flip again, baste with butter and broil for 2-3 minutes…serve with a sprinkle of chatmasala and a squeeze of lime along side lachcha pyaz!
