Amritsari Badiyon ka Pulao

Try making Amritsari Badiyon ka Pulao….with brown basmati rice…Its wholesome, delicious healthy! Team it with pyaz tamatar ka raita and you have yourself a complete meal!



Heat oil, Shallow fry small pieces of Amritsari badi and keep aside. In the same oil, add jeera, finely chopped ginger, minced garlic and sliced onions. Sauté till onions acquire slight color. Add the fried baris and about 1/4 cup water and cook till the water dries out and the baris become a little soft (eldente). Now add washed drained brown basmati rice that has been pre-soaked for 1 hour. Add salt and three times the water, simmer till done! Serve sprinkled with chopped dhania!

PS: if using regular white basmati rice, soak rice for 15-20 minutes and cook using two times the water.
