I’ve been often asked by friends n family to share a good recipe for homemade pizza sauce.
This particular one is my fav. Inspite of using a few simple ingredients, its bold and robust in flavor and is sure to please!

You will need the following ingredients….

Ripe red tomatoes 2 pounds

Garlic 1 whole bulb

Sun dried tomatoes 1/2 cup

Fresh basil, a handful

Organo (dried) 1 tsp
Salt, pepper and sugar to taste
Olive oil 2 tbsp
Method:
Drizzle some olive oil at the base of a baking pan

Slice tomatoes into half and place them in the pan

Place sliced garlic on top of the tomatoes.

Sprinkle salt n pepper and a generous drizzle of olive oil

Place in a 350F oven for 30 min.

Baking it, reduces juices and concentrates flavors

Cool and process in a chopper. Do not blend it too much…leave it slightly chunky.

Pour out into a pan and put over low heat.
Add the sun dried tomatoes

And the basil, chopped roughly along with 1 tsp dried oregano and 2-3 tsp sugar as required.

Cook for 15-20 minutes. Taste and adjust seasoning…and it’s ready to be used!
